Sugar Syrup: Homemade Honey

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg sugar loaf
  • ½ lemon, sliced
  • 500 ml water
  • 50 ml orange blossom water

Preparation:

  1. In a large saucepan, add the sugar loaf, water, and lemon slices.
  2. Stir, then cook under pressure for 30 minutes on low heat.
  3. You will notice the liquid changing color to an amber shade. Stir and add the orange blossom water.
  4. Stir again and cook under pressure for another 20 minutes on low heat.
  5. Pour the syrup into one or more glass jars. The liquid will thicken as it cools.
  6. You can use this sugar syrup as a substitute for honey in any recipe—it’s more economical and just as delicious!
